Abrochure is an explanatory document that can be folded into pamphlet or leaflet. A brochure can also be a set of unfolded papers put into a pocket folder. Brochures are promotional documents, primarily used to introduce a company, organization, products or services and inform prospective customers or members of the public of the benefits. Following are some tips to make the brochure creative.
Know your purpose: Ask your clients about what they need in a brochure. Then ask them to define their objectives. If they’ve come up with a brief for you, take a step back from that and look at exactly what it is they’re trying to achieve.
Limit your fonts: There is no need for many fonts when you’re thinking about the design a brochure – just a heading, subheading and body copy font. Clients will usually take the lead on fonts as they’ll often have a corporate identity in place.
Use simple statements: Sometimes the simple ideas are the best. If a client has decided they want lots of usual images to get a particular point across, it’s probably better to scrap them. The solution might be to use a typographic cover instead, and make a very literal statement about what they want to say.
Folded paper: Folding paper is a cost-effective and memorable way to connect with your readers, and a surprising amount of information can be contained within a relatively small space.
Add tabs: Something as simple as adding tabs to your brochure can have a great effect in terms of usability and navigation. And combining tabs with a strong, confident use of colour and striking typography means that it can look good too.
Make a change: Break out the layout pads and try drawing and sketching ideas to start with. Brainstorm everything among everybody, rather than taking a brief away for two weeks and then presenting three concepts to see which one the client hates the least.
Every brochure consists of three panels. In the case of the outside view, the first panel from the left is the one that will be inside, the middle one will be at the back and the third will be at the front.
